Getting your camera into the correct shooting position is ultra-fast with this grip head since the default mode is to grip the camera in place and all it takes to release the ball head is to squeeze the grip, reposition the camera and then release when in the desired position.

This makes it very easy to point the camera at almost any angle, but you do need to be aware that having the grip in a horizontal position means you can only get the camera into portrait mode by lifting the grip handle upwards. In horizontal mode, the grip handle itself gets in the way of trying to drop the grip handle into portrait framing.

The build quality is excellent and very apparent when you get a hold of this grip head. The fact that the head can be made to work left and right-handed as well as in a vertical, joystick mode is just marvellous.

Manfrotto has done a hell of a job with this grip head.
